Based the information gathered from the onsite survey a risk assessment was carried out to identify hazards and mitigate risk.

On completion of the set up process, the site co-ordinates were plotted and programmed into the drone. Utilising the drone camera we proceeded to take all of the footage required to produce the aerial map of the site.

From this we were able to establish some key information

In area terms how much unutilized or underutilized space is available

Whether the current grid layout was the most optimum for the shape of the site

Enabled the customer to overlay several alternate lay out plans for the site to establish to optimum arrangement of assets.

The next step was to survey the main building. The customer had requested we take a close look at certain areas of the roof, paying special interest to two chimneys. The chimneys would have been difficult to assess accurately from the ground as they are adjacent to extraction and ventilation ducts fitted to the building. Using the drone we were able to take a 360 degree image of both of the chimneys. A full assessment of the roof would high-light areas where preventative maintenance would be recommended.
